There are several options available for veterinary teams and pet parents to consider in Canada and the United States when it comes to seeking advice from Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists™ for both commercial diet options and/or custom homemade diet formulations.
Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), Guelph, ON:
The Clinical Nutrition Services consists of Dr. Adronie Verbrugghe (professor and clinician), Dr. Sarah Abood (professor and clinician), Dr. Caitlin Grant (resident), and Dr. Sarah Dodd (resident).
The OVC offers consultations to existing clients only.
No remote consultations.
Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), Saskatoon, SK:
The WCVM offers in-person consultations only. No remote consultations.
American College of Veterinary Nutrition:
There are many options available to pet parents looking for in person consultations with a Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist™ in the United States.

Dr. Rebecca Remillard is a Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist™ who offers remote consultations to veterinary teams and pet parents.
She offers nutrition support plans including both commercial diets and custom homemade diet formulations.
She will speak directly with pet parents.

Dr. Sean Delaney is a Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist™ who offers balanced homemade diets options through his EZ Autobalancer website.
Pet parents can obtain complete and balanced homemade diets for healthy adult cats and dogs from this website.
For pets with medical conditions, a veterinarian with a valid veterinary-client-patient relationship must sign-off on the homemade diet formulation before it will be provided to the pet parent.
VCA Nutrition
VCA Nutrition offers remote consultations to veterinary teams and pet parents through several Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists™.
This service will speak directly with pet parents.
NOTE: “Because remote consultations do not include a physical examination, all diagnoses, therapeutic diet authorizations, and medications must be provided by the pet’s primary care veterinarian”
